Richard P. Dutton, M.D., M.B.A.

Executive Director

Richard P. Dutton, M.D., M.B.A, is the full time-Executive Director of the Anesthesia Quality Institute. He is a graduate of Harvard University and Tufts University School of Medicine. He also has an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland. Dr. Dutton completed his anesthesia residency in 1991 at the Massachusetts General Hospital, and served from 1991-1994 at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda. From 1994-2011 Dr. Dutton was Assistant- Associate- and Full Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and was an Attending Anesthesiologist and Division Director of the Anesthesia Department of the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. At the Trauma Center, Dr. Dutton was instrumental in creating a hospital-wide quality management program centered around the Trauma Registry, and in 'mining' the data captured for numerous business, quality, and research improvement projects. Dr. Dutton has moved to Park Ridge to direct the formation of the Anesthesia Quality Institute, and will be resuming part-time clinical work at the University of Chicago. A longstanding member of the ASA, Dr. Dutton has been the Editor-in-Chief of the ASA Self 'Education and Evaluation Program (SEE) since 2005 and serves on the Committee for Trauma and Emergency Preparedness, the Committee on Performance and Outcome Measurement, and the Quality Management and Departmental Administration Committee.

 


Hubert Kordylewski

Systems Architect

 

Mr. Kordylewski earned a Ph.D. degree in EECS from University of Illinois at Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Kordylewski's research work was concentrated in areas of large scale data analysis, neural networks and statistical processing of medical data. His work produced a series of innovative application and were recognized for best paper award and documented in a series of publications (book chapters and reference journals).

Mr. Kordylewski has a broad background and expertise in the architecture, design, and development of applications, databases and systems for healthcare and the finance/trading industries. As a lead architect and designer for systems and databases, he was involved in a creation of one of the biggest, fastest and most complex applications in the industry.

 


Lance Mueller

Business Manager

  Prior to arriving at AQI, Lance worked in the IT industry for Finance and Banking firms; most recently for an online payroll company. At the bank, Lance worked on several projects which led to significant data center cost savings. Lance led specific project teams as part of larger system conversions. Lance has worked as a systems analyst, quality assurance coordinator, and project manager. Lance holds a Masters of Science in Mathematics from Northern Illinois University. Undergraduate degree is a double major in Math and History.
